FAQ

Will people understand me if I just read the kana?

Yes. These are short set phrases, and staff hear them from visitors every day. Say them slowly and clearly — the polite forms are already built in, so you can't accidentally be rude.

Is the audio accurate?

Every phrase carries a human-reviewed kana reading, and the audio is generated from that reading with a high-quality Japanese voice — the same audio our learning courses use.

Can I use this offline?

The page itself is light — load it on hotel Wi-Fi and it stays open. Audio needs a connection, so for the plane, screenshot the phrases you'll need on arrival.

What if I need a phrase that isn't here?

These nine scenes cover the standard traveler situations. For anything beyond them — or to actually practice speaking — our app's Speak mode lets you roleplay the scenes with an AI partner.
